With a focus on video conferencing, Reaching Through The Screen: Impactful Virtual Communication will highlight some of the familiar challenges of virtual communication and offer a range of tips on how to connect & communicate more effectively.
As a result of the session, participants will be better equipped to:
• Apply universal principles of effective communication in a virtual context
• Identify and avoid the common pitfalls of video based conversations and meetings
• Utilise techniques to maximise personal presence and impact when communicating virtually
• Manage the dynamics of group discussions
Duncan’s credentials combine a diversity of education, training and practical experience. He completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in English drama in 1991 and then went on to complete a Bachelor of Dramatic Arts at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA).
Duncan has been working as a leadership development consultant since 1998. He is an accredited executive coach through the Institute of Executive Coaching and is certified in a range of psychometric instruments and leadership development tools. He has delivered and designed programs in leadership, change management, diversity & inclusion, ethics, pitching & presentation skills, sales & business development, influencing, negotiation and media skills to a broad range of clients from both the private and public sectors. One of his great strengths is being able to work effortlessly at any level of an organization from CEO to frontline staff.
Duncan’s approach to program design is based on the philosophy that leadership is a complex set of skills that need to be continuously honed and practiced.
His action learning workshops provide a safe and supportive place to do this. Through simulations, role-plays and collaborative forums, workshop participants are encouraged to experiment with a range of practical approaches to various leadership challenges.
